SUMMARY:Thinking Different
DESCRIPTION:YPS Wildlife Week Meet | Wildlife Photography | Google Meet The presentation by Mr Gurcharan Roopra from Kenya\, begins with a series of thought-provoking images that capture unique interpretations of common subjects\, encouraging viewers to see the world from fresh angles. As the slideshow progresses\, it delves into the stories behind the photographs\, highlighting the artist’s motivations and the significance of thinking outside the box. Welcome to the world of African Wildlife Photography! Presenter: Mr Gurcharan Roopra Gurcharan was born and raised in Nairobi\, Kenya. The serene environs of his native place left a lasting impact and he became attracted to nature at an early age. After graduating in automotive engineering\, Gurcharan lived and worked in the UK for ten years where he sorely missed the space and freedom of the bush. By 2012 he made up his mind and returned to Kenya for good. Return to the bush coincided with him developing an interest in photography. What started off as a hobby took deep roots in his mind and soon his life started revolving around wildlife and nature photography. Time and the bush were great mentors where he developed and honed his skills to become one of the most noted nature photographers in Africa.  The more time Gurcharan spent in nature\, the more passionate he has become towards Mother Earth and the many fellow beings on it. He is committed to the cause of a pristine earth and has devoted his time and energy to many conservation causes in Kenya. He is happy for the fact that his images have come useful for many conservation projects. One thing is for sure\, there are many more exciting things to come from this gifted photographer!  Fb: facebook.com/gurcharan.roopra/ Insta ‘@gurcharan Google Meet Link: https://meet.google.com/sgz-fpoo-mep?hs=224

SUMMARY:Architecture Photography - Indian Heritage Monuments
DESCRIPTION:Presentation by:Mr Goutham Ramesh Architectural photography of Indian heritage monuments is more than just capturing structures—it is about preserving history\, culture and artistry through a lens. This presentation delves into the thought process behind photographing monuments\, focusing on research\, composition\, and storytelling. It explores how light influences the mood and details of an image\, how different perspectives—from grand vistas to intricate carvings—offer varied narratives\, and how tools like tilt-shift lenses help maintain architectural integrity. Through examples and techniques\, the session will illustrate how to approach heritage photography with creativity and precision ensuring every image resonates with the monument’s essence and timeless beauty \n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Goutham Ramesh Goutham Ramesh is a multifaceted individual with a deep passion for photography\, technology\, and cultural heritage. A skilled photographer\, Goutham specializes in capturing the essence of historical monuments\, natural landscapes\, and wildlife. His favorite equipment includes the Nikon Zf \, Nikon Zfc\, Nikon D750\, and lenses like the Nikon 24mm PCE tilt-shift\, 200-500mm VR\, and Laowa 100mm. His photography journeys have taken him to iconic locations like Hampi\, Lepakshi\, Darasuram\, and Thanjavur\, where he often seeks unique perspectives\, like reflections in rain puddles or intricate carvings on temple walls. Goutham’s talent has earned him numerous accolades\, including the PSA Gold Medal (Bosnia)\, GPU Gold Medal (Greece)\, and GIP Gold Medal (Germany). His photographs have been accepted for exhibitions in many countries\, showcasing his ability to capture moments that transcend cultural boundaries. Goutham is particularly drawn to India’s rich cultural heritage and classical art forms like Bharatanatyam. His work often includes detailed descriptions and stories of sculptures\, temples\, and traditional architecture. Notable captures include the Brihadeeswara Temple under dramatic lighting\, the intricate carvings of Hosaholalu\, and wildlife moments like blackbucks in their natural habitat. He credits much of his growth as a photographer to the mentorship of talented individuals like  V Nagraj\, who inspired him with his connection to the subject in macro photography\, and Satish H\, whose expertise in composition and storytelling shaped Goutham’s artistic vision. He also values the guidance of Late Murali Santhanam\, whose insights into light and intricate details have deeply influenced Goutham’s style. Professionally\, Goutham is the Director of Engineering at an IT company\, where he drives innovations in AI and Governance\, Risk\, and Compliance (GRC). He is also an advocate for hobby photographers\, challenging policies that limit their ability to document India’s heritage and showcasing the beauty of the country’s monuments through his lens. Inspired by his mentors and a thirst for discovery\, Goutham continually strives to master macro photography and document the intricate details of India’s architectural and natural wonders. Goutham’s love for travel and discovery is evident in his road trips to places like Hampi\, Lepakshi\, and Tamil Nadu’s temple towns\, where he combines his skills in photography with his deep appreciation for history and culture. Artists line the sidewalks with works that speak of emotion\, struggle\, and imagination\, while the crowd itself becomes part of the art—each face\, gesture\, and conversation a frame within the unfolding story of the city’s creative heartbeat. For street photographers\, this is not just an event but a playground of expression—where light dances on paint strokes and life blends seamlessly with art. Join our photo walk to witness and capture this fleeting confluence of artistic energy and street life\, and to see Bengaluru’s vibrant soul through your own lens. \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat to Bring For street photography at Chitra Sante\, simple\, light\, and unobtrusive gear works best in the dense\, busy environment. A compact mirrorless or DSLR body\, or even a capable smartphone\, is usually sufficient\, as the real opportunity lies in how quickly and intuitively you can respond to scenes in the crowd. A fast prime lens in the 28\, 35 or 50 mm range is ideal for working close\, capturing both artists and their environment while remaining discreet without standing too far away. Since the santhe is typically a long walk along Kumara Krupa Road with thousands of visitors and stalls\, carrying one or two small lenses instead of a heavy zoom is recommended. Because you will be on your feet for several hours please also bring\, a comfortable\, lightweight bag\, extra battery\, a couple of memory cards\, a pair of good walking shoes and a lot of positive attitude! Who Can Attend Anyone who feels drawn to stories\, people\, and the quiet poetry of everyday life will find something at Chitra Sante’s street photography walk. This is perfect for beginners who want a gentle\, introduction to shooting in a dynamic\, crowded environment or a experienced photographers who wishes to capture gestures\, and visual rhythms in a space filled with art and emotion. It suits photographers who enjoy observing human interactions\, colours\, and ones who are curious about approaching strangers and building confidence in candid work.  Review Sessions After the Chitra Santhe photo walk\, participants will be invited to a reflective review session during one of the YPS talks in February\, where selected images from the walk will be shared\, discussed\, and constructively critiqued. The focus will be on storytelling\, use of light\, and how effectively each photograph captures the energy and emotion of the santhe. This session will be an open\, supportive space where photographers of all levels can learn from each other’s work\, understand different ways of seeing the same scene\, and take away practical insights to refine their personal street photography style. About : Kishan Harwalkar Kishan Harwalkar\, is a street photography enthusiast and an active member of YPSStreet Photography group. He started his photography journey as a travelphotographer and developed passion for street photography since 2022. DESCRIPTION:YPS Saturday Meet | Feb 21\, 2026 | Different Perspectives In Photography | Google Meet By: Ashwini Kumar BhatSeeing Beyond the Obvious is a reflective exploration of photography as a way of seeing in a time of visual abundance. Through a personal lens\, the talk considers attention\, repetition\, restraint\, and the quiet evolution that comes from slowing down and looking more deeply at familiar places. His work is guided by emotion and perception rather than spectacle\, often finding meaning in familiar landscapes and natural elements.
