SUMMARY:Street Stories
DESCRIPTION:YPS Meet Live | July 12\, Sun | 5:30 PM | YPS Facebook page\n\nOur next YPS meet is by Mr Thejas K Rajaram who will turn ‘Story-teller’ for us to ‘see’ street stories unfold from USA. \nThejas loves life on the street. He is often found wandering in unknown streets\, talking to strangers and taking street photographs. \nGood street photographs fill us with emotions or give us insight.  Good street photographs go beyond light\, shapes\, and faces.  They use these tools to tell great stories of life.  Sometimes\, they ask questions.  Questions that may not have answers.  But questions that open up your perspectives\, making the need for an answer moot.  Street photographs are magical mirrors of life. \nAs humans\, when we were little\, we were entranced by mythological stories by grandmothers with white hair\, slightly drooping chin with a kind face\, a worn out saree patting us lovingly with their weathered palms.  The story seeking heart still remains with us when we are adults.  We seek to understand the world around us using patterns and stories. \n\n \nTo join the session\n\nFollow YPS Facebook page by clicking here\,  so that you get notified when the live session starts.\nClick on https://facebook.com/ypsbengaluru/live @ 5.30pm on Sunday 21 July\, 2020.\n\nAbout the Speaker\nMr. Thejas K R is one of our members who has been telling stories through photographs since a little more than a decade.  He lives in Houston\, Texas\, USA and manages Operational Technology projects for Alizent\, a part of Air Liquide – a world leader in Industrial & Medical gases.  He grew up in Bengaluru\, has a degree in Computer Science Engineering and an MBA Finance from Rice University\, Houston. \nThejas primarily shoots landscapes\, portraits\, street scenes and events.  Also\, he dabbles in Digital Creativity subjects.  Thejas has participated in numerous Salons and photo contests around the world.  He has an AFIAP distinction in photography. \nThejas has served on the boards of Houston Photographic Society and Houston Camera Club.  He is a life member of YPS. \n-YPS Executive Committee

SUMMARY:Wildscapes
DESCRIPTION:YPS Meet Live | July 19\, Sun | 5:30 PM | YPS Facebook page\n\nOur next YPS meet is by Mr. Praveen Mohandas \nAs the title suggests\, this is a presentation with a difference!\nMr. Praveen Mohandas presents “Wildlife in Landscape” bridging between wildlife and landscape images of wilderness and all on Monochrome!\nHe says “Colour photography to me is very representational if done in the regular way. My nature photography is not about records of my encounters. Many a times it’s an emotional response to the situation I am in. I like to get focused on to the subtitles of nature which otherwise is ignored . Black and white helps me to bring the initial layer of abstraction in the work. Our focus moves more towards form\, texture\,light etc.. as we start to read these aspects we get emotional with the picture. A similar or different emotion on the field made me make that particular image. Black and white also gives the viewer the freedom to interpret the visual in their own way thus engaging at different levels with the visual.. \nLet us join him on Sunday\, 19 July on an unusual journey into the wilderness. \n\n \nTo join the session\n\nFollow YPS Facebook page by clicking here\,  so that you get notified when the live session starts.\nClick on https://facebook.com/ypsbengaluru/live @ 5.30pm on Sunday 19 July\, 2020.\n\nAbout the Speaker\nMr. Praveen Mohandas\nA practicing architect from Thrissur\, he is the founder and principal architect of Transform Architects\, Thrissur\, Kerala.\nHe is a fine art nature and architecture photographer\, who has travelled and photographed across the span of India.\nHe is also a Projects Coordinator of Photomuse\, Museum of photography\, Kerala\, India.\nSome of the awards he has badged are –\n• Kerala Lalithakala Academy award for photography in 2007\n• Special mention in Sanctuary Asia magazine wildlife photography awards in\n2007\, 2008\, 2009\, 2010\, 2016.\n• Finalist in BBC wildlife photographer of the year in 2009 and 2010.\n• Open origins open ends season – Photo muse International photography exhibition – 2016.\n• Indian wildlife photography exhibition at Industry and Film museum \, Wolfen\, Germany – 2017\n• Open origins open ends season 2 – Photomuse international photography exhibition – 2017\n• Nature lyrics – group exhibition at Kerala Lalitha Kala Academy \,Thrissur \,2018\n• India Arch Dialogue – group exhibition at Delhi – 2018\n• Kari – exhibition at Kerala Lalithakala Academy\, Thrissur\, 2019\n• Kari – exhibition at Longtime art gallery\, Thiruvananthapuram\, 2020\n• Publications in various national international dailies and magazines.\n• Architecture photography assignments for leading architects across Kerala and Bangalore \n-YPS Executive Committee
