SUMMARY:Ranthan Karak: finding stories in the silence of the Himalayas
DESCRIPTION:YPS Saturday Meet | Travel Presentation | Sat\, 13 Jun | 7:00 PM | Google MeetBy:Raksha NagarajRanthan Karak\, in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand\, is a remote Himalayan landscape where silence\, scale\, and stillness shape the travel. Through a collection of photographs and personal narratives\, Raksha Nagaraj shares her journey across this lesser-known region\, from snow-covered ridges and changing mountain light to isolated temples\, forests\, and fleeting moments encountered along the trail. Rather than focusing on technical photography\, the session explores how landscapes can be observed\, felt\, and interpreted through images. It reflects on the emotions of being in vast mountain spaces\, the challenge of capturing atmosphere and scale\, and the small details that often become the strongest stories. Through these visual narratives\, the talk invites the audience to slow down\, look closely\, and experience the Himalayas beyond just scenery. \n\n\n\n\n\nAbout: Raksha Nagaraj Raksha Nagaraj is a traveller\, storyteller\, and photographer based in Bengaluru and the creator behind ‘Solopassport’\, a travel platform that documents journeys through landscapes\, cultures\, adventure\, and human stories from around the world. Through Solopassport\, she shares experiences that go beyond itineraries\, focusing on observation\, atmosphere\, and the emotions tied to travel. Her work reflects a deep curiosity for places that are remote\, culturally layered\, or shaped by nature and history. Having travelled to over 55 countries across all seven continents\, Raksha approaches photography as a medium of storytelling rather than perfection. Whether it is the silence of Antarctica\, the wilderness of the Himalayas\, or everyday moments in unfamiliar streets\, her photographs aim to capture the feeling of being present in a place. Her storytelling often combines personal reflections with visual narratives that encourage people to travel more consciously and meaningfully. Apart from Solopassport\, Raksha is also the founder of Bengaluru Prayana\, a community-led initiative that explores Bangalore’s history\, heritage\, and lesser-known stories through immersive walks and experiences. She is a PADI Rescue Diver with close to 90 dives across 15+ countries and an avid trekker\, who recently completed the Mt Kilimanjaro Summit. Through her journeys\, she continues to document the intersection of travel\, nature\, adventure\, and storytelling.  Facebook/Instagram/Twitter handles:  https://instagram.com/solopassport https://facebook.com/solopassport https://x.com/solopassport Language: English Request you to join the session 15 minutes prior to check your audio and video functionality. SUMMARY:Experimentation with ‘Form & Colour’ - part 2
DESCRIPTION:YPS Saturday Meet | Abstract Photography | Sat\, 20 Jun | 7:00 PM | Google Meet | Free and Open for All Presentation by:Mr Anil Risal Singh Anil Risal Singh was a landscape photographer until he discovered the magic of forms and colours. Gradually\, he immersed himself in understanding their subtle relationships and took up the challenge of creating images through a different way of seeing. This journey led him to develop an eye for visual patterns\, structures\, and chromatic interactions that often go unnoticed. To perceive such visual relationships requires light\, attention\, and a mind willing to look beyond the obvious. Photography\, in this sense\, becomes not merely an act of recording but an act of perception. He began exploring the possibilities of extracting the essence of these elements and transforming them into a contemporary visual language. The magic often unfolds when form and colour intersect. A strong form with subdued colour\, or a striking colour with a weaker form\, can produce an interesting image; yet when both work in harmony\, the visual impact is significantly enhanced. Both nature and the built environment offer an abundance of forms\, geometric\, graphic\, and organic\, and an endless range of colours. These elements establish subtle relationships with one another\, creating a sense of beauty\, balance\, and aesthetic pleasure. Their interaction stimulates the mind and invites deeper visual engagement. Together\, they form the foundation of powerful imagery that captures attention and communicates through purely visual means. His portfolio is a humble experiment that explores the nature of geometry\, form\, and colour\, and their possible relationships within photography as an art form. It is an attempt to observe\, interpret\, and celebrate the visual harmony that emerges when these fundamental elements come together. \n\n\n\nMr Anil Risal Singh\,MFIAP (France)\, ARPS (Great Britain)\, Hon.FIP (India)\, Hon.LCC (India)\, FFIP (India)\, AIIPC (India)\, Hon.FSoF (India)\, Hon.FPAC (India)\, Hon.FSAP (India)\, Hon.TAPS (India)\, Hon.FICS (USA)\, Hon.PESGSPC (Cyprus)\, Hon.FPSNJ (America)\, Grand Progress Award GPA.PESGSPC (Cyprus)\, Hon.
