SUMMARY:Getting the best out of your DSLR
DESCRIPTION:YPS Workshop | May 20 | Venkatappa Art Gallery\nWhen you hold a modern day Digital SLR\, you hold a really sophisticated equipment capable of performing unimaginable photographic tasks. They also come with bulky manuals that are difficult and time consuming to read and understand. As a result\, we end up using it the same way we used its predecessors\, the film SLR cameras. If you are in a position to understand the DSLR features and associated menu settings\, you can get all those shots that you sadly missed in the past.To help you understand your DSLR better\, YPS is happy to bring you this one-day Workshop with a focus on Camera Menu settings. \nAbout the Workshop\nHave you experienced loss of focus as that beautiful tiger went behind a tree and re-appeared on the other side while chasing a kill\, which made you to miss an opportunity of a rare shot? If you have experienced frustration with your camera in similar situations\, then it is time to address them. \nDo you know  there are 130+ settings in budget DSLRs and over 170 settings in high end professional DSLRs?  We spend lot of money to buy the latest model of the DSLR from our favourite brand and end up using  just about 4 or 5 functions that it offers. Today’s DSLRs offer very many advanced features in auto-focus\, metering\, exposure\, white balance and creative picture taking that are aimed at helping the photographer to capture great pictures in difficult situations. Without a knowledge of those features\, you will continue to miss those shots. \nIn this workshop you will see live demonstration of\, \n\nCamera Settings\nProcessing\nPrinting\nMonitor Calibration\nPhotoshop tuning\n\nand other topics about DSLRs and Mirror-less cameras. \nImportant Information about the Workshop\n\nThis workshop will cover only Nikon and Canon DSLRs with live demonstration using one of the makes.\nThe participant will benefit by bringing the camera along (with fully charged battery) and following the live demonstration.\n\nFees & Registration\n\nCourse Fee for YPS members is Rs. 1500/- per person. SUMMARY:Break into Fashion Photography
DESCRIPTION:YPS Meet | April 7 | 6:30 PM | State Youth Centre\nYPS has been hosting varied programs and this is no exception. We held a program on Astro Photography learning how to shoot stars and Milkyway. In this weeks program too you will see how to shoot stars of a different kind\, the high flying models in the Fashion World and learn what it takes to be successful in this exciting and rewarding world. Listening to someone who had very good successes in Fashion Photography and is still in twenties will be a great learning experience. \n \nPreetham Hosamane\, a charming young man still in his twenties\, is already making waves in the world of Fashion Photography. When you further learn that he had never touched a camera till his age of 22\, it makes you wonder how much one can achieve when you set your mind on something that is close to the heart. \nHis love for photography began when he was gifted a camera by his sister at the age of 22. Since then he had never stopped clicking. Completely ‘self-taught’ he learned everything he knew by just doing that – clicking. In his short career\, he has clicked some iconic portraits and photographed covers and campaigns for several influential celebrities and fashion houses. Over the years he had worked with some incredible people both in front of and behind the camera to create a portfolio which is mesmerizing. \nHe had recently launched his own firm called SUNBURSTT\, to take care of all the commercial assignments. By profession he is an Engineer in IT Sector. \nIn this young age he has found his strengths and understands the reasons behind his success\, which are: \n\nSuccess in Fashion Photography is all about visualizing images that connect with people across the continents\nKeys to success in the world of Fashion Photography are perseverance\, practice and patience.\nA sweet smile that communicates readiness\, confidence and bonding\n\nApart from Fashion Photography\, he also loves fast cars and bikes. \nGet ready to be swept away !

SUMMARY:YPS Meet - Enchanting Mountainsides
DESCRIPTION:YPS Meet | MAR 3 | 6:30 PM | State Youth Centre\nMountains are one of the most enchanting places on earth. They present different views every time you visit them. There are so many dynamic factors that contribute to this quality of mountains like the clouds\, the mist\, the seasons and the lighting. Some of these factors also change so rapidly that you would miss the fleeting views unless you anticipated them. \nMr. Goutham Ramesh is a landscape photographer who exploits these qualities of the mountains to produce stunning pictures.  Goutham is no stranger to YPS. His Macro Workshop in June 2016 turned many YPS members into Macro Photographers. \nThis time the viewers will see his brilliance in producing Landscape Pictures which have been sold in exhibitions to the public to raise funds for worthy human causes.  Goutham Ramesh will be presenting a slideshow and talk on his love with Munnar\, a place that he has visited many times and his recent views of Himalayas from Uttarakand. In the process\, the audience will get to learn\, \n\nhow to understand and anticipate vibrant scenes\nhow to make good pictures in every season\nhow to compose the various elements presented by the mountains\nhow to plan your visits to the mountains\nwhat gear would help you succeed in making mountain landscapes\nhow to present your pictures through proper processing\n\nHere are some examples of his work. You can also visit his personal web-site Canvas of Light to see more.
