DESCRIPTION:YPS Meet | May 5\, Sat | 6:30 PM | State Youth Centre\nNot many people have the fortune of making travel photographs both from the East and the West. Coming from a veteran photographer and a Lightroom specialist\, the pictures take a completely new dimension in terms of colors\, depth and composition.On May 5th\, 2018\, Saturday\, Shri. Arjun Haarith will be taking us through a journey to two places at the two opposite edges of the globe\, Thailand and USA. \nShri. Arjun Haarith won the Best Participant Award in the YPS 35th All India Salon held in 2017\, with 3 Awards and 8 Acceptances including Gold in Nature. He is a Software professional employed in Adobe\, hired to work on Lightroom development and testing based on his special knowledge of photography and software. \nHe has presented twice in YPS\, Himalayan Views by Arjun Haarith and To Lightroom or Not both of them received very well by the participants. \nComing from a family of photographers\, Arjun Haarith had his interest in photography raised in early ages. He had been going out regularly with Satish and has developed keen skills in photography in the process. While he started as a Nature photographer\, he found his rhythm in travel photography that goes with his keen interest to see places and also document the trips in well written blogs. His Blog site http://arjunhaarith.blogspot.in/ has over 40 blogs containing excellent descriptions of the place\, hints on stay\, places to see and very well made travel photographs. He has visited many Himalayan sojourns in Nepal and India including his recent trip to Spiti Valley and his earlier trips to Kumaon\, Garhwal\, Roopkund\, Great Himalayan National Park and many more. \nPlease join us in the journey !

DESCRIPTION:YPS Workshop | May 20 | Venkatappa Art Gallery\nWhen you hold a modern day Digital SLR\, you hold a really sophisticated equipment capable of performing unimaginable photographic tasks. They also come with bulky manuals that are difficult and time consuming to read and understand. As a result\, we end up using it the same way we used its predecessors\, the film SLR cameras. If you are in a position to understand the DSLR features and associated menu settings\, you can get all those shots that you sadly missed in the past.To help you understand your DSLR better\, YPS is happy to bring you this one-day Workshop with a focus on Camera Menu settings. \nAbout the Workshop\nHave you experienced loss of focus as that beautiful tiger went behind a tree and re-appeared on the other side while chasing a kill\, which made you to miss an opportunity of a rare shot? If you have experienced frustration with your camera in similar situations\, then it is time to address them. \nDo you know  there are 130+ settings in budget DSLRs and over 170 settings in high end professional DSLRs?  We spend lot of money to buy the latest model of the DSLR from our favourite brand and end up using  just about 4 or 5 functions that it offers. Today’s DSLRs offer very many advanced features in auto-focus\, metering\, exposure\, white balance and creative picture taking that are aimed at helping the photographer to capture great pictures in difficult situations. Without a knowledge of those features\, you will continue to miss those shots. \nIn this workshop you will see live demonstration of\, \n\nCamera Settings\nProcessing\nPrinting\nMonitor Calibration\nPhotoshop tuning\n\nand other topics about DSLRs and Mirror-less cameras. \nImportant Information about the Workshop\n\nThis workshop will cover only Nikon and Canon DSLRs with live demonstration using one of the makes.\nThe participant will benefit by bringing the camera along (with fully charged battery) and following the live demonstration.\n\nFees & Registration\n\nCourse Fee for YPS members is Rs. 1500/- per person.
