DESCRIPTION:YPS Meet | September 1\, Sat | 6:30 PM | State Youth Centre\nSri. K Venkatesh\, Bengaluru based photojournalist\, is currently working for the leading Telugu Daily Eenadu. He is been regularly associated with various national and international agencies; at same time he has done few short time assignments for some of most reputed news agencies.  \n \nSri. K Venkatesh is a Bengaluru based freelancer news photographer\, for the past 34 years and is associated with India’s leading media houses. \n Mr. Venkatesh\, Holds the reputation of being the man-on-the-spot. Through his photographs\, he wishes to draw the attention of the public and  believes people are greatly moved by seeing the pictures of unclaimed bodies\, the orphans of Tsunami and destruction it caused\, the plight of the old\, the discrimination of transgender community and the havoc caused by liberalisation etc.  Mr. Venkatesh says he loves the challenge that comes with handling distinctive subjects.  While six months are reserved for research on the topic the remaining six months are spent doing ground work and finally the shooting. He believes patience is essential for a photographer who deals with distinctive subjects. SUMMARY:YPS Workshop - First Steps in Photoshop
DESCRIPTION:YPS Workshop | Sep 09\, Sun | JP Nagar Club\nYPS is pleased to announce a workshop on post-processing of images using Adobe Photoshop.The Workshop will be facilitated by Shri. A G Lakshminarayan\, Photoshop Expert\, Trainer\, Digital Creation Specialist and Salon Judge. \nThis is a participatory Workshop in which the participants will be using Photoshop to post-process some stock images and also their own images under the guidance of the instructor. \nREGISTER\nParticipants will be required to bring their own laptops with Adobe Photoshop installed. The session will be taught using Adobe CC. Participants would benefit the best if they use this version. Older versions till Adobe Photoshop CS6 should be OK. \nWorkshop Details\nThe Workshop aims to cover the most important steps to “Get your pictures right”. This means that you can add life to your pictures by fixing common image issues created while shooting. The following First Steps will be covered in this workshop: \n\nCorrecting the Exposure – Determining the right exposure and adjusting brightness & contrast\nFixing Color – Fixing color casts and get the best colors out of your pictures\nNormalizing Zones – Adjust shadows and highlights for a pleasing image quality\nFixing Common Lens Aberrations – Lenses add multiple aberrations to the picture like Chromatic Aberrations\nFinishing the Image – Finish the image for a specific use through resizing\, sharpening and reduction of noise\nApplying Selective Corrections – Understanding Selection methods offered by Photoshop\nIntroduction to Layers (if time permits)\n\nWorkshop Fees\nThe Workshop will be limited to 25 participants to provide enough time for discussions and spend quality instructor time. Registration will be on first-come-first-served basis and will close as soon as we reach enough participants. As mentioned earlier\, this is a participatory workshop in which participants will be required to perform post-processing on images during the workshop. \n\nWorkshop Fee for Members of YPS – Rs. 2500/-\nWorkshop Fee for Non-Members – Rs. 3000/- (Click to become a member)\n\nThe fee includes Coffee/Tea and Lunch. Suitable arrangement to plug-in the laptops will be provided. \nThe fee does not include the following that the participants need to bring: \n\nLaptop & its accessories\nPhotoshop or any other software\n\nREGISTER\nCancellation of Registration\nCancellation of Registration is permitted till September 5\, 2018. He is a specialist in creative photography\, macro and bird photography. A specialist in photoshop\, he has conducted many digital post processing workshops for beginners and advanced photographers. \nHe concentrated only in creative section of international salons and got 66 awards and over 500 acceptances. His works were exhibited all over the world. He had been a judge in many Salons and contributed articles to many reputed Kannada magazines. \n

SUMMARY:ELEPHANT BEHAVIOUR And MAN-ANIMAL CONFLICT - A Slideshow by Sri K M B Prasad
DESCRIPTION:YPS Meet | September 15\, Sat | 6:30 PM | State Youth Centre\nSri. K M B Prasad\, a former Deputy Conservator of Forest (Retd.) and a  well-known wildlife photographer from Bangalore\, Karnataka\, brings us an interesting slideshow on the behaviour of the elephants and the man-animal conflict\, a conflict which has become one of the biggest conservation challenges today in different parts of the world. \nSri. K M B Prasad \n Mr. Prasad took up photography in the year 1992 and has been honoured with the International distinction of ARPS from London and AFIAP from France. His photographs have been featured in the Biennial World Cup competitions in different countries. He has bagged many awards and acceptances in State\, National and International Level photography salons. \n  \nMr. Prasad has worked in the task force formed by Government to capture the most dreaded forest brigand Veerappan and his associates. He was promoted to ACF in 1997\, again he worked at Bandipur for 3 years. Later in June 2012 he was promoted to the cadre of DCF and got retired during Jan 2014. \nLets us meet this Saturday to know about the behaviour of the Elephants and the escalating man-animal conflicts. \n  \nYPS Executive Committee
