DESCRIPTION:YPS Saturday Meet | May 07\, Sat | 6:00 PM IST | State Youth Centre\n\nStreet Walks are exciting\, colourful and full of fun.  YPS Street Group had a Street Walk during Chitra Santhe on 27 March\, 2022. In this context\, at the YPS Saturday Meet\, discussion on pictures submitted by members and a presentation\, ‘What is street photography’ by Subash Rao has been arranged at YPS Hall. \nMembers who attended the Street Walk at Chitra Santhe are invited to submit (details inside/below) their images (10 pics max) and have it reviewed by Subash. \nSaturday meets at YPS Hall are a constant learning mechanism for members to get opinions and advice from experts and examples on your photos . These sessions have set many keen photographers on a path to understand and produce great pictures. \n\nHear and be heard – These are interactive sessions and not talk shows.\nDiscuss and learn from real Member Pictures for absolute learning for everyone.\nOpinion from experts and knowledge from everyone who wants to share.\n\n\n \nAbout the Speaker\nMr. Subash Rao \nSubash Chandra Rao has been a practicing travel\, street photographer\, and photo educator. He started his photography journey in the year 2002. He has also been a professor for over a decade in various universities and colleges and has taught photography at the PostGraduate level. He says “I have always been a traveler\, adventurer\, and experience junkie. I began taking photos in college because I wanted to record and share my explorations. Now I go on adventures with the main purpose of taking photos. When I’m not creating\, I enjoy teaching and sharing.” \n For him\, it has been a dream to be able to combine photography with teaching. In addition\, he also teaches Post Processing in Lightroom & Photoshop (Beginners and Advance levels)\, lead workshops and gives presentations across universities and colleges.  \nSubash says “Photography has provided me with some wonderful opportunities. At the top of the list is being a member of the premiere photography club Youth Photographic Society\, Bengaluru.  These talented folks are my travel companions’ close friends and constant inspiration.” \nHe has taken a lot of photos over the years. Some have won awards\, been published\, and exhibited or otherwise used in ways one might hope they would.   \nUploading of images to Memex:\nSubash has always been ready and enthusiastic to share his knowledge with members of YPS. \n\nIf you have some photographs on which you want an opinion\, you can upload them using the Upload menu option on the Memex website (below). Here are a list of protocols that the visitors must adhere to: \n\nPersons attending should follow the Covid Appropriate Behavior prescribed by the Govt. of Karnataka. This includes social distancing and wearing of mask.\nAll visitors must pass the Thermal screening test done by YPS at the entrance.\nThere are restrictions on people who can visit the exhibition and participate in the award function.\nWe may have to ask visitors to wait to limit the number of people at the venue within permitted numbers.\nWe will not be able to admit accompanying children below the age of 18.\nPersons visiting the hall must have completed both doses of vaccination.\nEvery visitor will also be asked to sign a Covid declaration before being admitted to the hall.\n\n-YPS Executive Committee

DESCRIPTION:YPS Saturday Meet | May 21\, Sat | 6:00 PM IST | State Youth Centre\n\nKarnataka has a rich heritage of temple sculpture from the Chalukya to Wodeyar dynasty.  These temple sculptures tell us Stories in Stone.  The keen eyes of a photographer brings these magnificent stories to life! \nMr K S Srinivas brings forth to you the Untold Stories in the form of Shilpakala from Karnataka. \n                                                                                                             	                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            «              ‹              																										of																					10																	                              ›                »              												                                                                                                                        \n\n \nAbout the Speaker\nMr. K S Srinivas AFIAP\, ARPS \n \nK S Srinivas was born in B Narayanapura\, Bangalore\, India. Right from his younger days\, Srinivas was keen on photography as his career. At the age of 22 he started his own studio at K R Puram in Bangalore. \nThough he began photography for his livelihood\, soon due to deep concern for nature he took freelance photography and started sending his highly creative works to various national and international competitions and exhibitions. In a very short span of time he carved a niche for himself and won more than 30 national photography awards in addition to getting a gold medal in 2000. In recognition of his achievements in art photography the International Federation of Photographic Art\, Luxembourg has chosen five of his photographs to be archived with them permanently and awarded him AFIAP in 2004. This award was his first international break and these five photos are Srinivas’s claims to fame. \nSrinivas founded Focus Academy of Art Photography in 1996. He conducts wildlife photography tours and workshops. In 2017 he instituted the TNA Perumal Award in memory of his guru TNA Perumal. He was awarded Karnataka’s prestigious Lalitha Kala Academy Award. He was awarded with ARPS-Associate of The Royal Photographic Society\, Great Britain in 2019 for his contribution in Natural History photography. He is a multifaceted artist\, poet and freelance writer by hobby. \nHighlights of Achievements: \n\nPhotographs exhibited all over India have bagged more than 20 awards and 40 Certificates of Merit in National Salons.\nWas selected as one of the top ten photo exhibitors for National Photography Exhibition in India-2002\nServed as General Secretary and Treasurer for the prestigious Youth Photographic Society (YPS) Bangalore.\nServed as Salon Chairman & General Secretary for National Salons\nReceived more than 10 awards in International Salon.\nHis photographs have been exhibited in Holland\, Austria and Canada.\nIn 2004 he was awarded with the Prestigious Artist of Federation of International\nPhotographic Art (AFIAP) distinction by the Federation Internationale Del’ Art Photographique\, Luxembourg.\nConducted several workshops for young photographers at places like Bangalore\, Mysore\, Chitradurga\, Ranganatittu\, Mandya\, Bandipur\, Nagarahole\, Bellary\, Hampi and other states of India.\nIn addition to being featured in popular dailies and periodicals his pictures have been published on cover pages.
