Yes, you shouldn't cut the subject, especially live ones, as Chandrashekar's suggested. Also avoid spacing the subject in the cetnre. In this picture, keeping the bird a bit to the left would have given more space in the right, the direction where it is looking. That 'directional space' gives some breathing to the subject (actually to the viewer).
