M S Kakade, a mechanical engineering graduate, retired from service in 2015.  He is an avid traveller having travelled extensively within India and the world. He took to photography after retirement as a logical extension of his passion for travel and became a member of YPS in 2016. His photographic interest is mainly in wildlife and travel and he does most of his travel photography with his mobile camera.

He has worked in various prestigious manufacturing industries during his service, starting with a two-year stint in West Germany. After his return, he worked with HAL, L&T and for over 27 years with Faiveley Transport, a French multinational company manufacturing precision engineering products for rolling stock. For most of his career, he was managing operations but moved to Quality during the last years prior to his retirement. He retired as Executive Director – Quality and safety, having won widespread appreciation from the senior management team at the company’s headquarters in Paris. The company had several manufacturing plants across the world and the Hosur plant was regarded as one of the finest plants of the company, with Mr Kakade’s dedicated contribution.
