Dr G Thomas

Founder of Mysore Photographic Society in 1945, he was also the founder of Federation of Indian Photography and was its Secretary for 40 years. He was a judge, a critic, a writer, a lecturer and had practically achieved everything creative in the field of Photography. He was the Continental Representative of FIAP and Hon. Representative of PSA in India. He was awarded Karnataka Rajyothsava Award. Dr Thomas passed away on 17th April 1993.

His 520 acceptances from 100 odd pictures with innumerable awards including the Saltorius Medal from Austria for pictorial photography and the FIAP Service Gold Medal reflect his consistent participation in international exhibitions. His one-man photography shows in Sweden, China, Sri Lanka and South Vietnam are not only personal achievements
but are considered as landmarks of Indian photography.
