Dr Minnu Kejriwal has been associated with the Youth Photographic Society since the early 2000s, first joining the Society around 2003–2005. She renewed her association with YPS in 2022 and has since actively engaged in its photographic and cultural initiatives. She joined the Executive Committee of YPS as one of its directors for the years 2024-26
An independent researcher, art historian, writer, and photographer, Dr Kejriwal holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Art History and a PhD in Cultural Studies. Her interdisciplinary research engages with visual culture, symbolism, art history, and cultural interpretation. She has presented papers at national and international conferences and has published in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes on subjects related to symbolism, visual culture, and Indian art traditions. She has also worked as a Research Associate on ICSSR- and IGNCA-funded projects.
Since 2022, she has been covering the online Google Meet events of YPS for the Dṛṣṭi newsletter, contributing reports and reflective documentation on photographic talks and discussions. She began her journey in photography in 1989 with the iconic Nikon FM2 and continues to view photography as a deeply reflective and therapeutic practice. Over the years, she has participated in numerous photo walks and attended national and international photography workshops with various mentors, enriching her engagement with the medium through creative and experiential learning.
Alongside her academic pursuits, she is also a painter with a deep interest in the relationship between photography, visual storytelling, symbolism, and contemporary visual culture. Through her association with YPS, she aims to encourage meaningful engagement with photography as both an artistic and cultural medium, while contributing to the Society’s creative and intellectual environment.
