About The Speaker
Mr Amritpal Singh Luthra
Mr Amritpal Singh Luthra aka APS Luthra is a renowned name in the world of photography. He started his artistic journey during his school days when he used to participate in the Camel India painting contests which ignited his mind. During his late teens his father gifted him a Yashika camera which led to his very first step in the world of photography. In 2012, he bought his first DSLR camera, Canon 600D and started capturing the world in his own way. It started with the photos of birds, flowers and slowly turned into a stream of portraits. His trips to various parts of India like Jaipur and interior villages of Himachal and Punjab added more work to his collection and his talent.
Finding life in every face became his key point and eventually got him the title of Portrait King. Amrit is very fond of Jagjit Singh’s ghazals and Gulzar’s poetry, lines from which he uses with his portraits. He had a solo exhibition at IIFA Amritsar for three days. He was twice winner of the state level contest, Klick by Dainik Bhaskar. He also won first prize selected by Padam Shri Raghu Rai, in the portrait category from Camerana academy, Kolkata. He was also part of the international photography exhibition held at Imaginarium Museum, Paris. He was chosen in the top 3 portrait artists at the photography exhibition in Baghdad.
Amritpal Singh has been a proud Rotarian since 2000. At present he is the district public image chair of Rotary International district 3070 which comprises three States, Punjab, Himachal and J&K up to Leh Ladakh.
