Participation in salons is not only a step towards improving one’s photography skills but also an integral part to earn distinctions from various photography federations. Earning Distinctions requires ‘Acceptances and Awards’ in salons. 

The talk by Satish, who has been participating in salons since 1985 will cover topics such as:

• Judging of images in National and International salons
• Selection of images
• Various sections in salons
• Images suitable under each section
• Image size

The art of playing with light and presenting things ordinary in extraordinary perspective, the portrayal of nature in its finest detail and to capture the various human emotions in all its glory is what distinguishes Satish.

He is the first Indian to be honored with EFIAP and MFIAP in Nature color prints and the youngest Indian to get MFIAP. He is also the first Indian to get two master’s distinctions in the Nature section, from international photography bodies. 

He has judged more than 38 international and 49 national salons. His pictures have graced all the guidebooks published by ‘Outlook Traveler’ and ‘Today- Travel Plus’ magazines.  He has contributed calendar spreads to WWF, BEML, BHEL, MICO, MCF and Canara Bank. Andhra Pradesh Photography Academy has published a book on his wildlife photographic journey. Till date, he has won 978 national and international awards. For his achievements, he has been conferred with the title of Karnataka’s State Artist – an award in the field of Art of Photography by Karnataka Lalit Kala Academy.

Satish has been a member of Youth Photographic Society for 42 years and served as Secretary, Vice President and President of the club.  He proudly says ‘YPS is the No.1 photography club in India.’

Some Google Meet Self-Disciplines to be followed to make the experience memorable for everyone:

• Do not interrupt when something is being presented. Keep a note of questions and ask them at the end when the moderator opens the floor for questions.
• Keep your lines muted when not talking or asking questions.
• Keep your questions and discussions brief and to the point.
• If you cannot get the required answer in two discussions, take them offline with the panel member.
