I have been taking photographs from the age of 20. My first professional camera was Yashica Lynx 1.4 bought as second hand in 1981. The camera is still with me. As life went by, other priorities took center stage till I and my friend Amar Bhaskar decided to rekindle the passion in 2006 and took a class from Anand Sharan at BSOAP. One of the best things to happen to us was to meet Satish and Goutham in a Macro Photography presentation at YPS for Kannada Rajyotsava Day. We became friends quickly and I learned a lot from their experience and generosity. Together with Goutham, I manage our own group website for photographers interested in open and critical discussion (http://creativephotoartist.org). I also take guidance from Dr. Manoj Sindagi who taught me how to bring out the best out of each photograph. The next best thing to happen in my life was the forming of the Vismaya group under Amar Bhaskar’s incessant leadership. At Vismaya we turned our passion into a means of creating awareness and raising funds for worthy human causes. We have held 4 exhibitions in Bengaluru so far. Vismaya collection can be seen at http://vismayaforcause.org .
Today my interests lie in taking photographs of monuments, landscapes, abstracts, desktop and natural life. I look at Photography as a form of art where planning is 25%, clicking is 5% and presenting is 70%. As an amateur, I love to learn and explore newer techniques and adopt them in my work. Photography brought me close to many eminent people. I feel as engrossed today as I did while taking photographs 40 years back.
