Hobby Has dabbled professionally in various forms of art like Batik, Tanjore and Mysore paintings.  These pieces of art have reached innumerable countries through the prestigious Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation. (Cauvery)



During childhood Prema was exposed to photography, by her uncle E Hanumantha Rao, the renowned wildlife photographer and a senior member of YPS. Being an avid traveller, her interest in photography includes various genres like pictorial, nature, wildlife, macro and travel.

Joining YPS in 2016 catapulted her passion and brought her UP Lalit Kala Academy Award  for the Best Portfolio in Art Photography, Karnataka Tourism Award as well as many awards from national and international salons.  Her works have won recognition from more than 40 countries. She has been a jury member in many national and international salons and her pictures have been published in many digital and print media.

In 2018 she was elected as one of the Directors in the YPS Executive Committee.  2020 has seen her in the role of first lady Salon Secretary at the YPS All India Digital Salon.  It is the first time YPS entrusted this responsibility to a woman in its 49 years of existence and is proof of her capabilities and contributions.  In 2021 she was elected to YPS Executive Committee as Jt. Secretary.  In another first, she was given the responsibility of Chairperson of the YPS All India Digital Salon 2021 in the Golden Jubilee Year of the club.  The free for participation All India Salon 2021 saw an unprecedented 1,039 authors who submitted a whopping 13,321 works in 4 sections and created a national record for a salon with only FIP Patronage. She executed the role with perfection amidst many challenges posed by the prevailing pandemic situation. She was a member of the team to introduce webinars from presenters all across the globe which were a big hit, enabling YPS to rise as a winner in every aspect of the photographic world. She has played a major role with other EC members in changing the way exhibitions were held at the club.
