The Sep 2017 Karnataka Tourism Photo Contest was held under the theme of “Protected Monuments”. Karnataka had been the center of power for many kingdoms. Many of them had maintained their capitals in Karnataka leading to a rich collection of monuments of different architecture. Some examples of the capitals are Hampi, Badami, Mysore, Talakkad and Chitradurga. Some of them like Aihole date back to the beginning of the rise of India as a country rich in architecture. Many of them are still being used for worship.
We received 258 pictures from 75 participants. Remote judging process was employed to complete the judging and results were finalized by Shri. Murali Santhanam. After review with Tourism Department and after verification of full-resolution pictures, the results were announced.
