Street photography is a captivating art form that thrives on capturing the raw, unfiltered essence of everyday life in urban environments.

For Arindam Thokder, the true delight lies in uncovering connections between seemingly unrelated scenes and then finding the hidden stories within the chaos of the streets. It could be something as simple as the vanished yellow coin phone or the sight of cows wandering the roads without a care – I love revealing the rhythm and flow of city life by uncovering these connections that offer the viewers a fresh perspective to immerse themselves in the diverse experiences of the urban landscape.

Arindam Thokder is a Bangalore based independent photographer with a keen sense for contrast and color. His expertise lies in street photography, where he intricately captures the essence of everyday life. Additionally, he delves into documentary and travel photography. His work has been showcased at prestigious events like the “Indian Photography Festival” in Hyderabad, “Street Parade” in Paris, and the Angkor Photo Festival. His captivating photo stories have been featured in various publications including Caravan, Scroll, Mint (Hindustan Times), Better Photography, and Hindu. In 2017, he was honored with the Neel Dongre Awards for Excellence in Photography grant and received the Sahapedia Grant for his project “Larger Than Life,” which explores the world of Hand Painted Movie Posters and Banners.
