Dr. Manoj C Sindagi ARPS
Dr. Manoj. C. Sindagi’s journey to becoming a wildlife photographer was born out of a love and fascination with the natural world from a young age. He started to dabble in photography in 1984 and was guided by his uncle, his brother and a few close friends. Photography continued to be a hobby during his undergraduate & post-graduate Medical days.
After completion of his Post graduation in Paediatrics, Dr. Sindagi was able to dedicate much of his time to pursue his passion for photography.
He uses the medium of photography as a method to capture the amazing events he witnesses in nature. His intention is to use these reflections of the natural world to bring about an awareness in people, of the beautiful wildlife we have around us, the importance of conservation and the need to preserve our natural heritage.
Dr. Sindagi joined the Youth Photographic Society (YPS) in 1997. He was able to channelize and hone his photography skills by the many interactions he had with fellow photographers and the guidance received from senior members of YPS. He has served as a Director and  Secretary of YPS.
Dr.Sindagi’s pictures won him more than 100 awards and certificates of merit in many national and international photography competitions within a short span of 5 years. He stopped participating in photography salons in 2002, with a view to encouraging youngsters to participate and win awards.
His pictures have also won him awards in the prestigious BBC Wildlife Photographer of the  Year competition. Until recently, he was the only photographer to have been awarded the  Sanctuary Asia ‘Wildlife Photographer of the Year’ award two times. In 2002, he was awarded the Associateship of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS), UK, for his set of  Wildlife transparencies.
Dr. Sindagi has also been a judge for many National Salons and competitions, including the nationally acclaimed Tamron Challenge photography competition.
His love for Nature and Wildlife photography is shown in the many of his pictures that have been published in many books and magazines, such as the portfolios of the BBC Wildlife  Photographer of the Year, ‘Encounters in the Forest’, ‘The Best of Indian Wildlife’, ‘India  Naturally’, Sanctuary Asia’s Inheritance series and the National Geographic Traveller.
Dr. Sindagi specialises in conducting nature and wildlife photography workshops and field trips. He also teaches the nuances of digital photography for capturing and post-processing of images.
He has established ‘Sindagi Studios’, a state-of-the-art photography studio that will cater to the needs of professional photographers. He also intends to have regular interactive sessions amongst amateur photographers to promote the art and science of photography.  Apart from his interest in photography, Dr. Sindagi is an avid traveler and biker.
