Military aviation photography has something to do with national security as the flying machines operate in  classified airbases.  Unless, the operators like IAF or IN or IA invites known contacts to photograph specific events, the opportunities are quite slim.  However, through proper approach, one can obtain clearance for events like Air Force Day parades, Aero India or public displays by IAF’s aerobatic teams.

The scene outside India is much better, reasons  being simpler policies of respective design houses.  Thus, the international air shows like singapore, Dubai, RIAT etc., have been more attractive.

The aim of this presentation has the sole purpose of underlining the difficulties and various aspects of photographing military planes. It hovers around the strict clearance process one has to go through.
