Mr Subash Rao will start with a short presentation that will introduce the audience to the genre of street photography. The presentation will cover a short history of the genre and bust misconceptions about it. It will also aim to show through images of the great practitioners the width and breadth of this art form. The presentation will be followed by Q&A.
Presentation dwells upon the salon specific points to be considered while selecting images for common sections/themes of salons as laid down by the patronage bodies. While the qualities of a good image will be touched upon, the emphasis will be on the additional rules and section definitions to which the shortlisted images must adhere to.
‘Basic Photography Workshop’ was held successfully on 13th and 14th May 2023 at Venkatappa Art Gallery, Bengaluru. The workshop had participation of about 60 people, majority of them being non-members. The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from all age groups, majority being the younger generation and a few Junior Associates of YPS. Participants were from varied fields like dentists, architects, students who proposed to pursue journalism, hobbyists etc. The participants were taught basic knowledge on shooting with DSLR as well as mobile cameras and also to process the pictures on the mobile phone to make them even better.

September is all about Vietnam! YPS tour of Vietnam covers the cultural centre and capital of Hanoi, the most beautiful hills and rice paddy terraces in the Northwest of Vietnam. The hills are home to about 52 tribes who can be seen in their colourful best during the Saturday and Sunday markets.
