It was a very fruitful month of May, where we had lot of programmes for members, and discussions on various topics of photography. Now we have decided to meet on ALL Saturdays. And 2^nd and 4^th Saturdays are earmarked as YPS Open House meant only for discussion on pictures related to salons and other topics.

From May 2017, we have stopped printing Newsletter. We were sending printed Newsletter to a handful of people who had requested a hard copy. Since we found it difficult to sustain production of two versions of the Newsletter, we decided to suspend printing and produce only digital version of the Newsletter which will be distributed through YPS website and emails. Henceforth you please refer to YPS website for any information about YPS programmes.

We are planning to open a section for members to sell and buy used photography equipment, which will be open only for YPS members. This is under development. Please wait for the announcement.

Also, members, feel free to suggest some programmes, if found it relevant and doable, we will arrange it.

The June month, will have lots of monsoon clouds, which will be very good for travel photography. Plan your destinations and make some dramatic pictures.

The major activity during April was to take our actions for paying Tribute to Shri. TNA Perumal to conclusion. The submission of entries to the Tribute to TNA Perumal contest was closed on April 20^th. In all 1343 pictures were uploaded by 141 enthusiasts. Open judging was held at YPS on April 22^nd. It was a great occasion to see all the judges at the venue, most of whom stayed on till the end of the day.

The final step in our efforts was to hold a solo exhibition-cum-sale of Shri. TNA Perumal’s pictures, the proceeds from which went to the family of Shri. TNA Perumal. The Exhibition was inaugurated on April 28^th by Shri. K N Shantha Kumar, Chief Editor, Prajavani and by Shr. M N Jayakumar, Retired Chief PCCF. The exhibition was kept open for public till April 30^th. The event was made possible by contributions from M/s. Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd. and M/s. Prism Giclee Prints. Many have contributed money to the well being of Shri. TNA Perumal’s family.

Also on display at the exhibition were the award winning images from the contest. Please check YPS Website for a complete account of YPS efforts to pay a fitting tribute to Shri. TNA Perumal.
