Youth Photographic Society is a member of Photographic Society of America (PSA) since Sep, 2020.

Every year, PSA conducts a Newsletter contest for its member clubs, councils, and PSA Chapters with an electronic or printed newsletter of one page or more, published two times a year or more. The contest for the year 2021 was open between 01 March 2021 and 01 June 2021. Any newsletter published after June 01 of the previous year could be submitted.

Entries are independently reviewed by two sets of three qualified judges. Awards are determined based on the ratings assigned by the judges. Content, layout, good use of space and photos, neatness, ease in reading, simplicity, and style are of basic importance in this judging.

Winning entries are awarded after the judging. Apart from overall contest winners, awards are also given for outstanding achievement in various categories such as Best Calendar presentation, etc. YPS took part in this contest in the ‘Large Clubs’ group (clubs with more than 75 members), submitting the Feb 2021 issue of “Dṛṣṭi” as its entry and came away with many awards in its kitty.

During this time, a session on ‘oil on water photography’ came as a much-needed session to open another path for enthusiastic members.
