A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR !
This is a good time to take a look back at the progress made by YPS during 2016. YPS was on a roll ever since the new committee was elected and the program for the year was kicked off during the inauguration event held on May 22nd, 2016. YPS Executive Committee is overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and support from members. Here is a quick view of what we have achieved together in 2016:
- 161 new Individual Members and 31 Life Members joined YPS
- 25 YPS Meets, Workshops and Events – YPS Meets are held regularly every first and third Saturdays of the month covering a wide range of topics. Workshops were also held to facilitate learning.
- 34th All India Digital Salon participated by photographers from all over India. This was the first ever digital salon for YPS with digital open judging.
- A Public Digital Contest hosted by YPS for Kanataka Tourism Department to celebrate World Tourism Day
- A world class active website with member login
- An active Facebook Page and Member WhatsApp Group for better interaction
- Digital Newsletter distribution
- Recognition for veterans during events
- An active and engaging Executive Committee
The 45-year-old YPS has really turned Digital and Trendy, long before demonetisation, to be able to catch young photographic minds in Bengaluru and grow their professional talent. Work is under progress to host an International Digital Salon in 2017 to put YPS back on the International map.
With all the cooperation from members and committee members, we shall take the YPS forward and make it Internationally renowned and make YPS flag fly high.

Workshops being planned
Feb 2017 – Travel Photography Workshop at Jaisalmer & Jodhpur
A workshop is being planned at Jaisalmer and Jodhpur for YPS members in the month of February. This is a Travel and pictorial workshop. We will make arrangement for local models and camels etc. Those who are interested can give names to H.Satish (WhatsApp 9448687595). Depending on number of participants, we will arrange this workshop.
Feb 10 & 11 – Travel Photography Workshop at Badami, Pattadakkal & Aihole

Important Announcement
Due to increase in cost of operations, we are left with no choice, but to increase the present Individual Membership fees from Rs.500 per year to Rs.1000 per year. The one-time New Member Registration Fee has also been revised to Rs.250. Life Membership fees will be raised from the present Rs.2500 to Rs.5000. Other Terms and Conditions remain unchanged. This change will come into effect from 1st January 2017.
