World Photography Celebrations | Exhibition of Prints | ReFrame – Shoot, Share, Win | 29-30, August 2026 | 11 AM to 7 PM | Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath
World Photography Day, observed globally on 19 August, commemorates the invention of the Daguerreotype, one of the earliest practical photographic processes developed by Louis Daguerre and Joseph Nicéphore Niépce. It marks a milestone that transformed the way humanity records, preserves, and shares its stories.
For decades, the Youth Photographic Society (YPS) has celebrated World Photography Day by bringing photographers together through exhibitions, competitions, learning opportunities, and creative engagement. These celebrations honour not only outstanding images but also the passion, vision, and stories behind them.
