YPS Saturday Meet | Salon Participation | Google Meet
Presentation and Talk by: Ms Anitha Mysore
‘Stepping Into Salons’ is a practical, no-stress talk for photographers who are new to salons. It’s about more than just the image—it covers how to prepare your work, present it well, and understand what salons are really looking for. The focus is on building confidence, avoiding common slip-ups, and helping you feel ready to submit your images with pride instead of second-guessing yourself
From staying for a month at the base of an active volcano, to diving in the middle of sharks feeding on byproducts from a fish factory, Vandit Kalia spends a lot of time each year chasing unique underwater images. In this talk, he shares some of his favourite images across various genres of underwater photography, the techniques/equipment used to achieve those images and how trying to make those images helped him connect more deeply with the magic of the underwater world.
YPS Street Photography Team presents its 1st Street Walk of 2026 to Chitra Santhe.
Chitra Santhe is the annual art exhibition by Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath. It gives you an opportunity to do Street Images, Portraits and life scenes, patterns, colors, symmetry and much more.
Participation: Open to all Members. No Registration. Join the Street Photography WhatsApp Group for More Info
Chitra Santhe, Bengaluru’s grand celebration of art on the streets, is a living canvas waiting to be explored through the photographer’s lens. Once a year, the quiet stretch of Kumara Krupa Road awakens in a burst of color, creativity, and human connection. Artists line the sidewalks with works that speak of emotion, struggle, and imagination, while the crowd itself becomes part of the art—each face, gesture, and conversation a frame within the unfolding story of the city’s creative heartbeat. For street photographers, this is not just an event but a playground of expression—where light dances on paint strokes and life blends seamlessly with art. Join our photo walk to witness and capture this fleeting confluence of artistic energy and street life, and to see Bengaluru’s vibrant soul through your own lens.
YPS Saturday Meet | Dec 13, 2025 | 7:00 PM IST | Technical Talk | Google Meet
Technical Talk by: Mr Ashok Kandimalla
You think that ISO is the culprit which creates noise in your pictures?
ISO is widely recognized as one side of the exposure triangle. Equally common is the belief that increasing ISO invariably leads to more noise. The relationship between ISO and noise is far more nuanced than it appears—and, in fact, they are not connected at all. What is far more critical, however, is the strong correlation between ISO and a camera’s dynamic range. This talk delves into these often misunderstood relationships and offers practical guidance and tips on achieving cleaner exposures while maximizing dynamic range.
Mr Ashok Kandimalla has been in the field of photography for more than three decades and has extensive experience in both film and digital photography. As an electronics and computer engineer (he holds a degree in electronics from IIT Madras), he has a unique and deep insight into digital photographic technology
Mr Kandimalla has a passion for sharing his knowledge through teaching and writing. Starting from 2009, he has been authoring a series of articles under the title ‘Basics of Photography’ in the magazine – Smart Photography. Many of his articles have also been published in the ‘Viewfinder’ which is the official journal of FIP. He was also a co-editor for the FIP’s Sapphire Jubilee Viewfinder book. So far, he has published more than 200 articles plus equipment reviews in various leading Indian photography magazines
