You think that ISO is the culprit which creates noise in your pictures?
ISO is widely recognized as one side of the exposure triangle. Equally common is the belief that increasing ISO invariably leads to more noise. The relationship between ISO and noise is far more nuanced than it appears—and, in fact, they are not connected at all. What is far more critical, however, is the strong correlation between ISO and a camera’s dynamic range. This talk delves into these often misunderstood relationships and offers practical guidance and tips on achieving cleaner exposures while maximizing dynamic range.
Mr Ashok Kandimalla has been in the field of photography for more than three decades and has extensive experience in both film and digital photography. As an electronics and computer engineer (he holds a degree in electronics from IIT Madras), he has a unique and deep insight into digital photographic technology
Mr Kandimalla has a passion for sharing his knowledge through teaching and writing. Starting from 2009, he has been authoring a series of articles under the title ‘Basics of Photography’ in the magazine – Smart Photography. Many of his articles have also been published in the ‘Viewfinder’ which is the official journal of FIP. He was also a co-editor for the FIP’s Sapphire Jubilee Viewfinder book. So far, he has published more than 200 articles plus equipment reviews in various leading Indian photography magazines

This presentation offers an intimate visual journey into the world of polar bears, captured during two expeditions in 2022 and 2024. Through a curated collection of images, it explores the distinctive behaviours of these majestic Arctic creatures, with a special focus on the tender and instinctive bonds between mothers and their cubs. The photographs not only document the resilience and adaptability of polar bears in a changing environment but also highlight moments of playfulness, survival, and deep familial connection, inviting viewers to reflect on both the fragility and enduring spirit of life in the far north

This workshop is designed for photographers who would like to improve their images without spending too much time in post-processing. It will serve those who want to learn Lightroom Classic as well those who are already using the software but want to brush up on their knowledge
Workshop will cover the Library and Develop Modules of Lightroom Classic. (Lightroom, which is cloud-based, is not included)
To make the workshop more relevant and useful, it will not cover every command nor every option in a command like what some workshops do. Rather it will be oriented towards preparing photographers to process their images in the best possible way
This workshop is a ‘get your feet wet’ type of introduction. While going through the workshop will certainly give you the knowledge to process any image, you will need to practice the software to become an expert
All demo images, a sample library and a workshop guide will be supplied
