World Tourism Day Digital Photography Contest 2016
Photo Contest | Last Date Sep 24 | Department of Tourism
Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka in association with Youth Photographic Society, is conducting a Digital Photography Contest to mark the World Tourism Day 2016. The contest is open to all photographers, whether amateurs or professionals or tourists, from India. There are two categories, namely, Karnataka Heritage and Karnataka Nature. Each Participant can post up to 4 photographs under each category. The winner and runner will be selected by a jury of 3 judges. There is no Entry Fee. All the pictures must have been taken in Karnataka.
The contest is hosted by Youth Photographic Society (YPS) Bengaluru.
Requesting YPS Members to participate and win recognition and prizes.
Attractive Prizes
Department of Tourism has announced 2 Cash Prizes and 5 Certificates of Merit in each of the two categories. The Winner in each category will receive a Cash Prize of Rs. 25,000/- and the Runner will receive a Cash Prize of Rs. 15,000/-.

YPS Meet | Sep 3 | Travel Photography
Even as the excitement from the World Photography Day Celebration and Exhibition was dying YPS announced the programs for September and also Portrait Workshop for October. The first YPS Meet for September was held in the YPS Hall on September 3rd with a slide show and talk on Travel Photography by Murali Santhanam, Director, YPS based on his trips to Russia. A fitting Celebration for World Photography Day 2016
YPS Event | Aug 20 & 21 | Exhibition
Youth Photographic Society Bengaluru organized a Two-Day Exhibition of Landscape and Cityscape Pictures of Members on August 20 & 21 at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath. The Exhibition was organized to celebrate World Photography Day which fell on August 19th. 112 Pictures from 35 members were on display at the exhibition. More than 250 art lovers visited the Exhibition during the two days.

The Magical Sar Pass Trek
YPS Meet | Aug 6 | B V Prakash
The YPS Meet on August 6 was led by Mr. B V Prakash, YPS Member and Himalayan Trekker. The YPS Meet was attended by over 30 people. Mr. B V Prakash was a Camp Leader under the Himalayan Trekking Program in Himachal for a month under Youth Hostels Association of India (yhaindia.org).
