Youth Photographic Society has been a member of Photographic Society of America (PSA) since Sep, 2020.

The Photographic Society of America (PSA) Newsletter Contest

PSA conducts a Newsletter Contest annually for its member clubs, councils, and PSA Chapters with an electronic or printed newsletter of one page or more, published twice a year or more. The contest receives many entries from photographic clubs worldwide. Entries are independently reviewed by three qualified judges. Awards are determined based on the ratings assigned by the judges. Judging is based on three criteria: Presentation, Production and Content.

The editorial team of Dṛṣṭi has been submitting the journal, each year since 2021, for this contest, and there has been some recognition or the other every year, with Dṛṣṭi winning the Arthur P Henricks Memorial Award, the top-most award twice!

Anitha Mysore, the YPS representative for PSA helps in the submission of Dṛṣṭi for the PSA Newsletter Contest.

PSA Newsletter Competition – 2026

Excerpts of message from PSA:
“Congratulations!  Drsti has been awarded second place in the 2026 PSA Newsletter Competition!    In addition, Drsti has also earned the Best Front Page and the Best Technical Article for Raju A K, AFIAP’s “ Just Grasp It:  Optical Principles, Technique, and Practical Application”.

Excerpts from Jury’s Comments:

“Dṛṣṭi is a polished, magazine-quality publication with a clear and consistent design plan. The cover is a standout: the striking ‘Melody With Friend’ image paired with an elegant masthead and a short ‘Inside’ teaser that invites the reader in. Content is a real strength. The mix is excellent, from the featured travel and wildlife piece on the Pantanal (by Dr Ajit Huilgol) (page 7), to the reflective opinion article on returning prints to subjects (by Vimal Parmar) (page 12), the Camera Diaries essay (by Thejas K R) (page 14), the detailed technical article on panorama photography (by Raju A K) (page 20), the member spotlight (by Prema Kakade) (page 5), the event reports (by Dr Minnu Kejriwal) (pages 25 and 28), and a well presented showcase of competition acceptances (by Anitha Mysore) (pages 30 to 36). Image quality throughout is high, and almost every photograph carries a title and maker credit. Overall this is an excellent entry that reflects real skill and care.”

ESFIPC DISTINCTION TO YPS

Distinguished Service To The Federation Of Indian Photography
by a Corporate Club Distinction

ESFIPC Distinction was awarded to Youth Photographic Society by the Federation of Indian Photography for having rendered distinguished services to FIP over many years.

The award was presented by Mr Adit Agarwala, President, FIP and Dr Barun K Sinha, Honorary Secretary General, FIP at the FIP AGM held on 23rd March, 2024 during the 31st FIP Convention in Mysuru and hosted by YPS.

The ESFIPC Distinction plaque was received by Mr Manju Vikas Sastry, President, YPS and Ms Prema Kakade, Secretary, YPS

YPS is proud to be the first recipient of this coveted distinction by a Corporate Club
