YPS Frames 2024 – Square It Up

Exhibition – Presentation – On The Spot Shoot, Share & Win | 10-11, August 2024 | 11 AM to 6 PM | Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath 

August 19 is celebrated as World Photography Day to toast the creativity and nuances of photography that have captivated us for years. The day traces its origins to 1837 when the first-ever photographic process, the ‘Daguerreotype’ was developed by the Frenchmen Louis Daguerre and Joseph Nicephore Niepce 

YPS has been celebrating this day with member exhibition combined with various activities.  This year, on 10th and 11th August, we bring:

  • 10 & 11 Aug, 11am-6pm : ‘FRAMES 2024 – Square It Up’ Exhibition of Member’s pictures printed on canvas
  • 10 Aug, 3pm : ‘from Pole to Pole’ Presentation by Dr Ajit Huilgol
  • 11 Aug, 11am – 6pm : ‘FoodFotografi’, an interactive session – On The Spot Shoot, Share & Win 
Submission of pictures, exclusively for Members.
Registration: Limited slots on First Come, First Served basis
Last day for submission of pictures: 15 July, 2024

Macro time of the year is back! YPS conducts its 3rd macro workshop at Hingara from June 21st to 23rd, 2024 (Departure on 20th night by bus from Bengaluru and return on 24th morning)

Glass is considered one of the most challenging subjects to photograph. The reason for this is the transparency and the reflective nature of glass. It is very essential to understand the lighting techniques to photograph glass in an effective manner. The lighting can be done in two different ways. Namely bright field and dark field techniques. Once the challenge of lighting has been overcome, photographing glass gives immense joy.
